Amino the world leader in IPTV set-top box equipment and software to supply STBs for roll-out in Hou
Optical Entertainment Network (OEN) announced that Amino will supply standard and high definition set-top boxes (STBs) for FISION’s fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) video service.  Cambridge, United Kingdom based Amino, the leading provider of consumer premises equipment for broadband and IPTV based services, will deliver the first generation STBs for FISION, that will receive over 300 video channels including over 50 channels of High Definition Television (HDTV), video-on-demand (VOD) and original and speciality programming.

“We are very pleased to add Amino’s proven technology and technical architecture to the FISION Network family.  Amino’s product line, which includes SDTV and HDTV set-top box formats made them an easy choice to supply our consumer premises equipment for our subscribers”, said Allen Easty, Chief Technical Officer of Optical Entertainment Network, the parent company of the FISION service.

Amino will provide the AmiNET120 STB, a high definition set-top box fitted into Amino’s award winning ultra-compact form factor, which is fully capable of driving HDTV and SDTV displays.  The AmiNET120 is compatible with leading worldwide providers of conditional access and middleware solutions enabling a full end-to-end IPTV solution including both broadcast TV and video-on-demand.  In addition, FISION will make available Amino’s AmiNET500 STB, which features built-in PVR functionality.

“Amino is thrilled to have a partner such as Optical Entertainment Network.  The FISION service launch in Houston provides Amino with distribution into a lucrative market and places our technology at the forefront of home entertainment technology”, said Rick Sailor, Vice President Sales Americas, Amino Communications LLC.
